1900 (6 Feb.) stampless envelope to a lieutenant colonel at Modder River "Via Delagoa Bay & Cape Town" from an officer at Staats Model School bearing a very good strike of Arms "commandant general" c.d.s. in purple, Pretoria c.d.s. (6.2), Durban triangular censor handstamp and Cape Town c.d.s. (8.3), the reverse with Durban transit (23.2); soiled. Also a stampless "On Active Service" envelope to Putney from a P.O.W. in Nooitgedacht Camp and countersigned by the commanding officer J. de Lac Schroder with only London Paid and arrival c.d.s. (16.10); soiled. This letter was captured by Lord Dundonald's Forces on 2nd September. Two interesting covers. (2)
