An interesting group (9) to and from various destinations and with a variety of censor markings and tapes including 1919 'missions of the american board/ bible house/ stamboul/ constantinople' printed envelope to U.S.A. bearing KGV Great Britain 2½d. with 'censored by / 5/ military authority' handstamp, 1901 Boer War censored envelope from Bermuda to Johannesburg bearing QV 1d. tied by 'hamilton/ bermuda' c.d.s. and with circular 'prisoner of war/ passed censor/ bermuda' handstamp in blue, 1916 postcard from Bermuda to England with triangular 'passed/ censor bermuda' cachet in violet, 1917 envelope from Gibraltar to Alexandria re-sealed with opened by/ censor/ 1502' tape, 1915 envelope sent Registered from Togo to Switzerland bearing Togo ½d., 1d. and 3d. all tied by 'lome/ togo' c.d.s. and re-sealed with 'opened by censor/ 459' tape, 1916 India ½a. postal stationery envelope sealed on reverse with 'straits settlements/ no. 6887/ opened by censor' seal, also items from Mauritius and Transvaal; a good group of early censored items
