Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika
1914-18, a collection relating to H.M.S. "Manica" which served during the war in East Africa including thirteen original photographs of the ship and its workings as well as a photograph of six men serving aboard, with ten postcards sent from the ship with various censor markings and one envelope addressed to the "Manica" with dumb handstamps and boxed "passed by naval censor/h.m.s." handstamp. Offered together with letter of provenance detailing how the previous owner had inherited the archive from his father, H.C. Deakin who served aboard the ship. A most interesting archive.
