1932 (6 Nov.) registered envelope flown on 'The Spirit of Fun' by Capt. James B. Dickson and Arthur Loewe on the Bombay to Karachi leg of the flight and posted upon arrival franked KGV 1a.3p. and 1½a. (2) tied by 'karachi' c.d.s. and endorsed at top 'Carried by Mr. Arthur M. Loewe, Vice-President Metro-Goldwyn Mayer Film Corporation in his Monoplane Spirit of Fun and posted by him from Karachi' and signed below by 'James B. Dickson'; 'The Spirit of Fun' was the first plane to make the 1,200 mile journey from Calcutta to Bombay non-stop. From there it continued to Johannesburg via Baghdad and Khartoum, two days later, after visiting Victoria falls, the plane crashed during take off, killing Capt. Dickson and injuring two passengers.
