Arthur Harold Smith was born at Kingston, Ontario, Canada on 4 December 1893 and was a cutler prior to enlisting on 12 August 1914. He arrived in England on 17 October 1914 and left Avonmouth for France on 8 February 1915, seeing service with the 3rd Battery Canadian Field Artillery. Smith reported sick on 23 August 1917 but remained in France until November 1917 when he returned to England with a variety of mobility issues. He returned to Canada on 30 October 1918 and was discharged on 14 March 1919 as being medically unfit. Smith died on 6 March 1959.
