Johannes Nicolas Van Den Berg was a native of Honingfontein and during the Anglo-Boer War served from 6 April 1900 until 31 May 1902. During the Great War he returned to the fold and joined the Waterberg Kommando and was discharged on account of kidney stones in June 1915.
