(x) Hunza Nagar Badge 1891, by Gurney & Son, Woodstock Street, London, light contact marks, very fine

Gurney of London manufactured this badge which was awarded by the Maharajah of Jammu and Kashmir to his own troops, who served in the operation against the border states of Hunza and Nagar and qualified for the India General Service Medal 1854-95 with clasp Hunza 1891. The punitive expedition was led by Colonel A. Durand in response to the defiant attitude of the Hunza and Nagar chiefs towards the British agency at Gilgit.
