Richard James Selby Cane served with the 82nd Imperial Yeomanry, 2nd Battalion, Sharpshooters during the Boer War and is entitled to the Queen's South Africa Medal with 4 clasps. His obituary, which appeared in the Kentish Express on 2 January 1959, mentions that he was a noted sportsman and runner in his younger days and that he was a broker's clerk in London before moving to Tenterden, Kent in 1934; sold together with copied research.
