Territorial Force Efficiency Medal, G.V.R. (694 Pte E. Poulter. 4/R. Berks: Regi), contact marks, minor edge knock, very fine
Edward Poulter was born in 1883 in Waltham St. Lawrence, Berkshire and enlisted in 1902 with the 3rd Royal Berkshire Militia, which was later abolished and succeeded by the 4th Royal Berkshire Territorial Force. He was awarded his Territorial Force Efficiency Medal in 1914 ahead of joining the Western Front of the Great War with the 1/4th Berkshire Regiment in March 1915, further entitling Poulter to a 1914-15 Star Trio. They left France for the Italian front in November 1917 and were stationed in Italy for the remainder of the war. While in Italy, Poulter reached the rank of Corporal and was Mentioned in Dispatches of General Plumer, the Commander in Chief of the British Force in Italy; sold together with copied research, including medal rolls.
