Thomas Dennis Mainprize was born in Rhodesia in January 1921, the son of Thomas and Lillian Mainprize of Sailsbury, Southern Rhodesia. He was serving with the 60th Squadron, South African Air Force, a survey Squadron formed in Nairobi in 1940. With them in North Africa in 1942 Mainprize was killed in action on 8 May 1942 and is buried at Halfaya Sollum War Cemetery; sold together with copied Commonwealth War Graves Certificate and census data.
