Joseph Henry Goodwin Wood was born at Liverpool in 1876 and enlisted with the Royal Flying Corps on 17 September 1917 as Air Mechanic Class III. He was stationed with No. 2 Aircraft Deport in February 1918 when he was involved in a railway accident. Admitted to No. 3 Canadian Stationary Hospital at Doullens on 13 February with a fractured right leg he died of his injuries on 17 February. Wood is buried at Doullens Communal Cemetery Extension No.1, France.
