British War and Victory Medals (170985 Pte. A. Blackmore. M.G.C.); Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque (Arthur Blackmore), extremely fine (3)
Arthur Blackmore was born at Curry Mallet, the son of William and Laura Ann Blackmore of Rose Cottage, Curry Mallet, Taunton, Somerset, where he later enlisted. He was killed in action on 7 November 1918 whilst serving with the 28th Battalion, Machine Gun Corps and is buried in the St. Souplet British Cemetery.
This lot is sold together with the following archive:
(i)
Transmission slip for the Great War medals.
(ii)
In Loving Memory card to him.
(iii)
Army Form B.104-121 stating he has been buried in Maroilles Communal Cemetery.
(iv)
A letter dated 1 June 1923 saying he was reburied in the St. Souplet British Cemetery, having been previously buried in the Maroilles Communal Cemetery.

Machine Gun Corps cap badge.
