(x) A Second World War Burma O.B.E. and M.I.D. group of six to Lieutenant-Colonel D. P. St. C. Roissier, Royal Lincolnshire Regiment

The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, O.B.E. (Military) Officer's 2nd Type breast Badge, silver-gilt; 1939-45 Star; Burma Star; Defence and War Medals 1939-45 with M.I.D. oakleaf; General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, S.E.Asia 1945-46 (Lt. Col. D. P. St. C. Roissier. R. Lincolns.), some very light contact marks, otherwise very fine (6)

O.B.E. London Gazette 6 June 1946, the original recommendation states:

'During the period under review Lt-Col D.P.St C.Roissier has commanded the 1st Bn the LINCOLNSHIRE Regt on active operations on RAMREE Island and amphibious operations leading to the capture of RANGOON and thereafter the advance forward to link up with IV and XXXIII Corps. He has always displayed the highest qualities of leadership and determination to succeed in face of any difficulties and has been an inspiration to all ranks of his very fine Battalion.'

Note, the only O.B.E. given to the 1st Battalion for service in Burma.

Douglas Philip St. Clair Roissier was born on 17 March 1910. Commissioned into the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment as a Second Lieutenant on 28 August 1930 he was advanced Lieutenant on 28 August 1933. Further advanced Captain on 1 May 1938 and Major from 13 July 1940, he embarked at Ramree Island for the landing on Rangoon on 2 May 1945.

Promoted Lieutenant-Colonel on 24 March1945 he served in South East Asia as part of S.E.A.C., embarking at Madras for Sumatra on 4 October 1945 remaining there until November 1946. He later served as Commander of 45th Group, B.A.O.R. from 2 February 1956 and finally retired on 31 December 1958 and died in 1970.
