Four: Squadron Leader T. Vickery, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve

Thomas Vickery was appointed Pilot Officer on 4 May 1940 and was transferred to the Technical Branch on 11 November. Advanced Flight Lieutenant on 1 January 1943 he appears to have flown with No. 83 Group during the D-Day landings. This unit was equipped with Typhoons, armed with rockets and attacked ground-based targets. Acting Squadron Leader by the end of the War Vickery was confirmed in the role on 16 January 1957; sold together with an original Mention in Despatches certificate, two magazine extracts relating to Vickery’s Jewellers, a document of commission, four masonic parchment documents and a booklet entitled No. 83 Group 1943/45 along with a copied London Gazette extract.
