Henry John Jenkins attested at Cardiff on 31 October 1924 having previously been a Coal Miner. He was serving as Platoon Sergeant Major (W.O.III) in France as part of the British Expeditionary Force and was taken Prisoner of War sometime between 10-27 June 1940. Jenkins was sent to Camp 344 (Stalag VIIIB) near Lamsdorf, Silesia, and was given the number 47916. He was discharged on 4 January 1946.
