(x) Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 1 clasp, El-Teb_Tamaai (Corpl. W.G. Vernon. Wentworth Vol.Sig.Co.R.E.), contact wear to rank, light pitting from star, good very fine

William Guy Vernon Wentworth from Scarborough, Yorkshire initially enlisted in the Royal Engineers from which he purchased his discharge. He subsequently re-enlisted in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers on 25 June 1886. Promoted to Corporal on 1 May 1887 he deserted on 14 March 1888. His service papers additionally confirm entitlement to the clasp Suakin 1884 and Khedives Star; sold together with copied service papers.
