One of 59 clasps awarded to H.M.S. Starling for Suakin 1885.
William Henry March was born at Deal, Kent on 2 February 1858. He enlisted as a Boy second class on 27 February 1876. Serving in a variety of vessels he was posted to Starling on 22 August 1882 and was shore pensioned on 3 February 1886 from the Duke of Wellington for his last month of service; sold together with copied research, his copy service papers are in the name of Marsh whilst his medals are named March.
