Canada General Service 1866-70, 1 clasp, Fenian Raid 1866 (1151 Pte. M. Robson, 4: 60: K.R.R.C.), officially impressed naming, good very fine, together with an Imperial Service Medal, G.VI.R. (James Weir) (2)

Matthew Robson was born in Newcastle in 1841, his father being a coal miner. He was serving with the 4th Battalion, King's Royal Rifle Corps by 1860 when they were stationed in Ireland and had met his wife there. Robson served in Canada from 1861-69 and was discharged in 1880. By 1881 he was living at Victoria Dwellings, a Chelsea Pensioner & Messenger. By 1900 he was living at St John's Lodge, Green Lane, Penge.
