China 1856-60, 1 clasp Taku Forts 1860 (John Staveley. 44th Regt.), pitting, edge bruising, very fine
John Staveley served with the regimental number, 4288 during the Second Anglo-Chinese War. He was present with his regiment for the attack on the Taku forts and was later recorded as stationed at Kowloon in 1861. He returned to England for discharge from India in 1865; sold together with copied muster roll papers and a British Army Index transcription.
