Auction: 24100 - World Banknotes - e-Auction
Lot: 509
(x) Imperial Bank of Persia, specimen 20 Tomans, 1st January 1896, serial number range F 05001 - F 15000,
this specimen serves as a sample for the second set of issued banknotes that were printed; the inaugural set was printed seven years prior and was represented by a specimen with the serial number range of F0001 - F05000. However, all 25,000 of these issued 20 Toman notes remain completely undiscovered. At present, the only way to own a banknote from the early issues with a single prefix letter serial number is in the form of a specimen. As a result, we are thrilled to offer this banknote as it remains to be a scarce example of such early 20 Toman notes
(Pick 5s, BNB 107), in PMG holder 64 Choice Uncirculated, printer´s annotation, only 2 notes in higher grades on PMG census
