(x) Imperial Bank of Persia, [Top Pop] specimen 1 Toman, ND (1890-1923), red serial number range A/C 000001 - A/C 100000,
inaugural denomination of the first series of the Imperial Bank of Persia. Printed for Tehran, this specimen features the signatures of Arthur F. Grundy and Joseph Rabino. Based on the split prefix serial number, we can determine that this note was printed between 1903 and 1910.
There are several varieties of the 1 Toman, with this particular note featuring the iconic lion and coat of arms on the reverse rather than the word "ONE", and with red instead of black serial numbers.
The split serial number range A/C 000001 - A/C 100000 covers the maximum notes printed for this split prefix run, indicating that issued printed notes features this exactly colours.
Only three specimens of this type have been graded by PMG thus far, exemplifying the rarity of this type. This particular note has the distinction of being the single finest graded among them.
This fantastic specimen is further noteworthy in that this is a flawless example of its type, having no other mentions by PMG except the coveted EPQ designation. Other specimens have mentions by PMG, such as printer´s annotations or previously mounted, with this being a rare example of an unblemished note
