1856 Issue
Various Districts ½r. Blue, group of 72 stamps (singles, pairs, and strips of four), 10 covers (including four entire letters), and one cover front, with districts including Apam, Chalco, Chiapas, Córdova, Durango, Jalapa, Guanajuato, Mexico, Pachuca, Tampico, Veracruz, and Querétaro. Highlights feature a strip of four from Jalapa (tight margins at bottom) with PF opinion, an impressive double impression with MEPSI certificate (Scott $150), strip of four with Chiapas pen cancel (narrow margin at bottom), Yatee pair, Papasquiaro strip of four, Mineral del Monte, Actopan, Cuéncame (cut into pair), and the very rare Soto la Marina strip of four. The covers are in good condition, with five paying the 1856 single rate; including two particularly attractive examples from Veracruz (pair and strip of four), Mexico vertical pair paying the single rate, and Durango pair with mute cancel.
