1900, 1b. slate without overprint, “Bolívar Negro”, mint with original gum and hinge remnants, displaying a great freshness and a good centring for this stamp, which is presented within ample balanced margins. A magnificent and highly desirable example of the most charismatic stamp of Venezuelan philately, one of the finest recorded, considered as one of the great semi-modern rarities of South American philately; (some of the few surviving examples of this stamp either lack gum or have been regummed).
