1868 envelope (complete with contents) registered to Bombay bearing India ½a. (2) and 2a. (5) with good strikes of the "308" in diamond of bars (Type C4b) and showing, on the face (bearing three of the 2a.), framed "regd no" handstamp; defects in places and with paper seal at top which may be contemporary. Believed to be the earliest registered item after the postal agencies opened in the Gulf. Photo
