1843 "Bulls Eyes"
São Paulo (SP). 30r. and 60r. black, two well margined examples, the former with ("Correio Geral de (?)") "S. PAULO" double circle of mysterious origin and applied on the only "Bull's Eye" recorded carrying it; the higher denomination showing red-brown "correio geral de s.paulo" rimless c.d.s. Slightly mixed condition with the 30r. with minor thinning. RHM 1, 2. Photo

Note:: The 30r. exhibits the only known example of this cancellation. It is believed that this was used in the city of São Paulo, although there is a contrasting opinion suggesting that it may originate from a different town in the State of São Paulo. It is a mysterious usage and one of the most fascinating postmarks on this highly significant issue.
