1843 "Bulls Eyes"
São João del Rei (MG). 60r. black, touched in lower left corner, otherwise clear to large margins, on 10 May 1844 single weight entire letter to Rio de Janeiro, attractively tied by two strikes of "s.joao delrei" straight-line handstamp (Ayres 1170). Acidic ink-induced erosions caused by the cancellation but not affecting the franking. Two strikes of a dispatch postmarks on single frankings on cover are very rarely found, with only four recorded in total, two of which are from this locality (the other being extensively damaged).
