c.1840-QEII, a balance collection comprising Charles Whiting embossed and printed essay page (foxed), Prince Consort Essay in red, 1840 1d. black (5), two used and three of unused appearance, 2d. blue horizontal strip of thee, and two pairs, all used with vertical pair (faults) tied to 1840 (13 Dec.) entire letter from Newport to Winchester, Plate 97 Henry Archer perf. trial used with R.P.S. Certificate (2014), 1841-51 2d. blue unused pair and single, strip of four off cover and strip of three on entire, both cancelled by Maltese Crosses, strip of four, strip of three, two singles on piece and single all cancelled by '12' in Maltese Cross, and strip of three and pair cancelled by barred numerals, 1870-74 1½d. rosy-mauve overprinted "specimen", 1841-53 1d. red-brown (30) cancelled by numbered Maltese Cross 1-11 with strip of four cancelled by '12' in cross, 1845-70 1d. red and 2d. blue covers (15) 1880 Tender essays (4); King Edward VII issues with 1902-11 5/- unused and used (3), 10/- unused (2, both with faults) and used, £1 used (regummed) and used (2), 1907 (18 Oct.) envelope registered to Rome bearing ½d. block of eight, block of four and two singles, two censored covers, a range of KGV covers including 1933 (5 Sept.) envelope with G.W.R. air mail label, 1933 (25 Nov.) envelope with Provincial Airways Westcountry Air Service 3d. label, QEII varieties and misperfs, and a selection of postal stationery and postcards. Mixed condition though well worth careful viewing.
