KI, close to large margins all round, crossed by vertical filing fold with various faults, tied by superb magenta Maltese Cross in vivid shade to 1841 (4 Feb.) entire from Campsie to Edinburgh, the reverse with boxed "18" (Campsie) in matching ink, Glasgow and Edinburgh d.s. on reverse. A remarkable example of this rare ink.

Notes: Spink have offered only one other example of the magenta Cross from Campsie of far lesser quality.
