Blinkwater: 1908 (10 Dec.) envelope to Southwold, Suffolk bearing 1898-1908 2½d. blue tied by a fine strike of the "blinkwater/s. rhodesia" c.d.s. type 13x with a second strike alongside, the reverse with Gwelo transit c.d.s. (11.12) and the flap with the device of the British South Africa Police; slight fold at right, well clear of the adhesive and postmarks. This latter was carried by coach to Gwelo. Scarce with less than twenty examples of this postmark recorded. Photo

This post and telegraph agency was opened by 3 November 1903 at the site of a staging post about 5km south east of Umvuma on the coach road from Gwelo to Salisbury. The office was closed by 31 December 1909
