Issued Stamps
30c. black and deep ultramarine, variety vignette inverted, a superb used example; well-centred and with strong colours, a couple of faint creases not affecting the appearance. Only three examples of this fabled and fascinating inverted stamp exist, all used. A wonderful opportunity to possess one of the rarest Queen Elizabeth II errors in worldwide philately. Offered with normal for comparison. A.P.S. (1984) and B.P.A. (2009) Certificates. S.G. 171a, £30,000. Photo

Note: This example was the first to be discovered in 1983 by a collector in the United States who found it in a stockbook amongst his duplicates. A second example was found in 1992 in a glassine packet containing common stamps and was auctioned by Christie's in 1993. The third example was discovered in 1996 and sold by Shreves Galleries in 2002.
