1900 (9 May) envelope addressed to "Trooper J.T. Bennick, C Troop D Squadron, Protectorate Regiment, B.S.A. Fort, Mafeking", bearing Goodyear 1d. deep blue on blue and Baden-Powell 3d. blue on blue (18½mm.) wide, both clearly tied by Mafeking c.d.s. With only three known, mixed frankings of two different photogravure stamps are among the most significant covers from the Mafeking siege, all overpaying 1d. for the 3d. rate to outposts.
