1900 (5 May) envelope addressed to "Pte Cook, Bech Rifles, Town Hall" (the Bechuanaland Rifles was a volunteer force raised from the townspeople), bearing Goodyear 1d. pale blue on blue (2) and Baden-Powell 3d. deep blue on blue (18½mm. wide), all clearly tied by Mafeking c.d.s.Very rare, one of three known covers bearing both photogravure values, all of which are overpayments of the local rate, with these mixed frankings being among the rarest and most sought-after covers from the Mafeking siege.
