1900 (28 Mar.) envelope (with letter datelined "Bechuanaland Rifles Mafeking 26th March /00") to London, bearing seriffed overprint Cape 3d. on 1d. pair, [5-6], tied by Mafeking c.d.s. and showing, on reverse, Kimberley (15.4) and arrival (7.5) datestamps; the envelope with some faults including soiling/light stains and heavy central vertical crease. Contents including “Just a few lines to let you know that I am all pips. I had rather a rough time. I will write a longer letter when I am certain of getting a letter through…” Photo
