An Exceptional Cut Square, Sound Example of the Rarest Shade of 12 Cents
12c. black on indigo, so-called sugar paper shade, initialled "E.D.W., cut square with circular frameline cut into on two sides, cancelled by Berbice double-arc d.s., apparently free of faults. The rarest shade of the 12 cents value, with only eleven recorded examples according to Townsend. Of great significance is also the fact that this example is free of imperfections, making it exceptionally scarce. R.P.S. Certificate (1967). S.G. 6I, £45,000. Photo
