8c. black on green Type C, initialled "E.D.W.", cut square with circular frameline touched at foot and at left, excellent colour, cancelled by light Berbice double-arc d.s. in 1850, fine. A lovely and most desirable example; according to our records, the finest of only five cut-square examples recorded, additionally being one of just two in sound condition -both offered in this sale - (fewer than ten cut square and cut round examples are faultless).
