Villiers Family
1898-1954 the family photograph albums (2) and an album of press cuttings relating to the Villiers Family. The daughter of Lord and Lady Wimborne of Canford Manor married the Rev. Ernest Villiers in 1898. The albums contain letters, invitations, ephemera and items relating to the political career of Ernest Villiers as a Liberal Party candidate in Brighton. Free Trade propaganda, menus, group photographs, travel ephemera to Japan and Australia in 1907 with letters from Government House Sydney, Melbourne and a member's ticket to Victoria Racing Club are included. Lady Wimborne was a daughter of the 7th Duke of Marlborough and a relative of Churchill. "Target filled in by Winston Churchill at the Dytra, \Brighton July 2, 1904" and a seating plan with Churchill as a guest at Wimborne House are laid down. A third album of photographs cover family visits to Bruges, Douglas, Isle of Man, Didlington Hall, 1902 Coronation, Venice etc. Worthy of further inspection (3)
