1829 (29 October) letter signed from La Grange to Peter [Stephen] du Ponceau regarding A Mr. Pepin, manufacturer of cashmere shawls who wishes to visit the United States, asking that du Ponceau give him a favourable reception. Lafayette additionally thanks du Ponceau for the beautiful map of the United States which he has just received.
Archivally meshed to album page along edges leaving address panel and remnants of wax seal intact. Fine and rare.
