Joachim Murat, King of Naples
Undated letter signed "J. Murat" to Mr. Sallicety, Paris, asking him to intercede for a friend and procure an interview with the first Council; archivally meshed to album page along edges leaving address panel clear, fine and scarce.
Notes: (1767-1815) known for his role as Marshal in the Napoleonic Wars, Murat also served in the French Revolutionary Wars. Murat reigned as King of Naples from 1808 until 1815 when he was assassinated in Pizzo, Calabro. Murat has since attempted an invasion of Calabria in which he was hopelessly outnumbered.
