Prince George, Prince Regent
1818 October - Five page formal document addressed to Prince George, the Prince Regent, written from Horse Guards, submitting for his approval a detailed memorandum of the intended movements of British Army Regiments and Corps, resulting from the return of the Forces from France at the final conclusion of the War in Europe against Napoleon. It is signed at the conclusion Approved / George PR" and dated at Carlton House. "The Five Nations Congress of Aix-la-Chapelle opened on 1st October 1818 and brought to an end the military occupation of France under the general command of the Duke of Wellington"
Details are given as to the redeployment of the Forces to Ireland, the Leeward Islands, Cape of Good Hope, Gibraltar, St Helena (where Napoleon was imprisoned), Jamaica and Mauritius.
