Field Marshal Sir William Birdwood (1865-1951)
Wooden walking stick with his name "Sir William Birwood / C.in.C" (sic) carved near the handle. Probably a local gift to him while Commander-in-Chief India 1925. Was commander of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps during the Gallipoli campaign in 1915 (36 inches long)
