1878 (30 Nov.) Coast Line Stage Co. printed corner card with handsome illustration of horses and stagecoach from San Francisco addressed to New York, bearing 3c. green (perfs flaws) tied by cork cancellation with adjacent despatch c.d.s. The reverse with arrival (7.12). Enclosure with matching letterhead. Fine and scarce, this company was supposed to have carried the U.S. mail and Wells, Fargo express from San Francisco to points south between 1868 and the late 1870s, so it is possible that this letter was picked up along the way.
