"R" in Circle of Bars combined with Circular Datestamps
1885-1907 a postal history selection (14) from various offices comprising Henzada, Hlawga, Letpadan, Magwe, Minbu, Mingin, Mongnai, Moulmein-Tavoyzoo, Myaing, Myingun, Sadon, Sandoway, Shwegyeen, addressed to Rangoon, India, England, Germany, Scotland and USA, including better Magwe 1899 (19 July) envelope to London and re-addressed to Dover, bearing ½a. and 4a. tied by "r" in circle of bars (Type K1; the only recorded example) and showing, on reverse, "magwe" c.d.s. (Type D2; earliest recorded date), Bombay and arrival datestamps; Mongnai 1890 (3 Apr.) ½a. stationery envelope to Devon cancelled in transit at Rangoon, uprated with 4½a. cancelled by "r" in circle of bars (Type K1) and showing, on reverse, legible "mone/fort stedman" c.d.s. (Type D1) along with Fort Stedman, Rangoon and Bombay transit datestamps. The only recorded examples of Types K1 and D1. Myinun 1896 (1 July) 2a. registered envelope to Rangoon cancelled by "myingun/b.o./magwe" c.d.s. (Type D2), uprated with ½a. (2) and 1a. (2) each cancelled by "r" in circle of bars (Type K1), showing Type R1 registration h.s. and Minhla transit d.s.; the envelope with some light discolouration. The only recorded examples of these markings. Mixed condition as expected, a wonderful lot for the specialist.
