1825 (15 Mar) entire letter from Calcutta addressed to Capt. John Cursham, 1st European Regiment Madras, and redirected to Rangoon showing G.P.O./MAR 15/P.Pd despatch h.s. and madras bearing postage (26.3) c.d.s. in black. Some expected splitting along fold and tears partially reinforced, not detracting the overall appearance. A very rare early incoming mail and a desirable piece of postal history travelled during the first Anglo-Burmese War.
