Pair of presentation photographs by W&D Downey of the Prince and Princess of Wales prepared for the 1905-06 India Royal Visit, signed by both "India 1905-6", in the original dark leather monogrammed standing frames, with their cyphers "G" and "VM" at the top.
Rare items presented at a very high level.
"The photograph of the Princess of Wales, Downey negative 10741A, was the image used by Waterlow & Sons to produce an engraving used as the head design on a set of stamps issued by Rhodesia in November 1910, the famous Double Head issue"
