FE, close to large margins, black Maltese Cross cancellation on entire to Arbroath, boxed "1" on the front, framed Dundee (20 Sept. 1841) and Arbroath (21.9) datestamps on the reverse; light vertical filing fold and very slightly folded out of shape to improve the appearance.
