A valuable mint and used collection housed in a stockbook comprising 1840 1d. black unused (2) with four margins, used singles (54) with mixed margins, on cover (8) including entire letter to Manchester (BPA Certificate 1993), 1840 2d. blue (8) and one on cover, 1841 2d. blue, Pl. 3 unused (R.P.S. Certificate 1983), used (22) with multiples and including a 'violet blue' example (BPA Certificate 1994), 1841 1d. red unused (5) including two pairs with margins, 1854-58 1d. red unused (4), 1858-76 2d. (2) Pl. 13 (regummed) and Pl. 15, both unused, 1870 1½d. (3) unused; embossed issues comprise 1870 1/- green (3), 10d. brown (2) and 6d. (1); a range of surface printed including 1867-83 Watermark Maltese Cross 5/- rose (2), one unused, 10/ (3) and £1 (6) all used, three cancelled by Glasgow c.d.s, Watermark Large Anchor 5/ rose (1) and 10/- (2), 1883-84 2/6d. 2/6d. (8), 5/- (7) and 10/- (7), all used, also 10/- unused (2), 1883-84 up to 1/- (14) all used, 1887-92 ½d. vermilion to 1/- dull green (except 4½d. and 10d.) overprinted specimen, mint selection up to 1/- (60+) including 4½d marginal block of twenty, 1/- dull green block of four crisply cancelled by four 'Southborough' c.d.s, £1 green used (6), 1902-10 ½d. to 10/- unused (25+) comprising 2/6d. (3), 5/- (1) and 10/- (2), used includes 5/- (5), 10/- (2) and £1 (4) many cancelled in the Channel Islands; 1913-19 Seahorses unused includes 2/6d. (10), 5/- (8) including a marginal pair, 10/- (7), three with certificates, used selection to 10/- (15), 1929 UPU Congress £1 (5) with one unused, 1934 10/- (18) with block of four, all used; 1951 to £1 in mint marginal blocks of four; also QEII early sets to £1 (6), all unused a range of postal history throughout (15+) the remainder of the stockbook stacked with mostly used duplicates, mixed condition with some faults throughout as expected though a very valuable and interesting lot and well worth viewing.
