a91 and a105 unsevered vertical pair, 1841 (9 June), from Sandbach addressed to Chester, each cancelled with central black Maltese Cross cancellation, and showing at top despatch and arrival (10.6) c.d.s. A few expected faults including creasing though the finest of the three used 2d. letter sheet unsevered pairs recorded (photocopies included of the other two known), the only vertical pair and the only cancelled by black Maltese Cross. Wonderful showpiece item of the highest importance. Unpriced as such in the catalogue. Photo
