George IV (1820-1830), Halfcrown, 1825, Type 3, dies by William Wyon and Jean Baptiste-Merlen after sir Francis Chantrey, bare head left, rev. crowned helm over square-topped shield adorned with floral garnish, DIEU ET MON DROIT on scroll below, edge straight milled, 14.17g, 6h (ESC 642; Bull 2371; S.3809), an astonishing example, accentuated by a rich cabinet tone bathed in proof-like brilliance across fields, choice FDC, truly rare in this state, and especially so with a certifiable 19th Century Spink provenance
