William III, Solus (1694-1702), York Sixpences (2), 1696 y, first laureate and draped bust right, script y below, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, three strings to early harp, large crowns, nine billets, edge obliquely milled, 2.94g, 6h (ESC 1539; Bull 1296; S.3525), blemish on the King's jaw and a small scuff above his head, with faint adjustment marks on reverse, otherwise lustrous and colourfully cabinet toned, almost extremely fine; another, Sixpence, 1696 Y, first laureate and draped bust right, capital Y below, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, four strings to early harp, large crowns, eight billets, edge obliquely milled, 3.11g, 6h (ESC 1539; Bull 1296; S.3525), overt metal flaw through date, otherwise lustrous and darkly toned, a really bold very fine, scarce (2)
