Charles I (1625-1649), Civil War Issues, Royalist Aberystwyth, Threepence, 1638-1642, (m.m.) • CAROLVS • D .' G .' M .' B .' FR .' ET • H .' REX • smaller crowned and armoured bust left, large Plume before, III behind, rev. • CHRISTO • AVSPICE REGNO (m.m.), oval garnished shield surmounted by plume, 1.444g, 4h, m.m. book (Morrieson A-2; Brooker 775 same dies; North 2340; S.2894), slight wave to flan, and with a hint of peripheral softness, otherwise richly cabinet toned with delightful colourful flaring and lustre in recesses, almost extremely fine for issue, a most pleasing little coin!
